Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SATISFIED owners of Magirus Deutz lorries have a dissatisfied German fireman to thank. Conrad Dietrich Magirus, Ulm's fire chief, was displeased with the fire-fighting equipment available in 1864, so he built his own steam appliance. Eight years later he developed his famous Ulm ladder but it was not until 1916 that Magirus began to make lorries.

Thirteen years after the merger of Magirus with Klockner Humbolt Deutz in 1935 the Deutz air-cooled engine appeared in Magirus vehicles and has been in use ever since. The adoption of the Deutz air-cooled V6 206bhp engine by Ford for nine new Cargo models announced on April 22 is perhaps its apotheosis.

The wheel seems to have turned full circle, for one of the Cargo chassis in which the Deutz engine is offered is claimed by Ford to be ideal for a fire appliance.
