of Wiveliscombe, Somerset, for a variation of an A licence by adding three vehicles of 104 tons, was granted by the Western Licensing Authority, Mr. J. R. C. Samuel-Gibbon at Taunton last week.
Mr. P. Langdon, managing director of Tone Vale, said that average earnings of the company's vehicles had increased in the past year and he was also paying more for hiring, despite having additional vehicles. Cross-examined by Mr. G. Mercer, for British Road Services, objecting, Mr. Lan gdon agreed that he had earned a substantial sum from other hauliers and clearing houses, but this was for return traffic.
Six customers supported the application,
