Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LTHOUGH the list of exhibits of PA Associated Manufacturers Co, (London), Ltd., tallies fairly closely with that of last year, an important addition will be the Case model-Q combine harvester. This appliance works at high speed and affords a cutting height variable from 38 ins, clown to 4 ins, The large high-speed elevators are nonchoking and deliver the grain to the capacious packing platform, whence

the stacks, slide down a chute, being automatically dumped in groups of three.

Another important exhibit will be . the Case model-L tractor mounted on pneumatic tyres and equipped with a winding drum. This type of outfit, which is priced at £454 complete, is becoming popular with threshingmachine proprietors.

FISHLEIGH. Stand 160 1U1ARKET gardeners should inspect IVithe selection of rotary cultivators to be displayed by the Fishleigh Rotary Cultivator Co., Ltd. The new 4-ft. model is priced at £88, whilst the 5-ft. and 6-ft. types cost £93 and £98 respectively.

FOWLER. Stand 161

ONE of the most impressive displays in the Show will be that of John Fowler and Co. (Leeds). Ltd., which will exhibit, among other machines, a complete range Of oil-engined Gyrotillers, including the huge 200 h.p. four-ring model. Then there will be a variety of track-laying tractors, also incorporating the Fowler-Sanders patent " two-way-swirl " oil engine. The models to be shown will include the 80h.p., 44 h.p. and 33 h.p. outfits.

One of the tractors will be equipped with a special winch for logging work designed with a view to avoiding projecting partsabove the bonnet.

DECENTLY introduced to the British lAmarket, three Oliver farm tractors will be exhibited by John Wallace and Sons, Ltd. Two of them have ordinary-steel wheels and are listed as of 18-20 h.p., and 28-44 h.p. respectively. The latest innovation is the No. 70 row-crop outfit, which has just been tried out in this country, with spacial equipment constructed for it by the Wallace concern.

This row-crop machine is available with either steel wheels or pneumatics, a feature being that the two small front wheels are set close together. • It is claimed to be very economical to run.

A Fordson tractor will be seen, along with a number Of agricultural implements.

COOPER-STEWART. Stand 171

AMONG a range of tools for the farmer, the -Cooper-Stewart Engineering Co., Ltd., will have on view a Gravely auto-mower and cultivator, priced at £55: MILLER.. Stand 172 SINCE Miller Wheels, Ltd., introduced,duced, hi 1931, its Non-Zlip wheel, Some 2,000 pairs have been sold, and fitting prominence will be given to this equipment on the company's stand. Universal cultivation units will be shown along with a new line, comprising adjustable pneumatic-tyred wheels for tractors.

INTERNATIONAL. Stand 179

BACKED by long experience in meeting the needs of farmers, the International Harvester Co. of Great Britain; Ltd.,can always be relied upon to provide .a varied and useful display. Those concerned with tree felling and haulage will be particularly interested in the model 20 industrial tractor, with pneumatic tyres and a driver's cab, which is capable of handling trailers of a capacity up to 10 tons.

Then there will be a 15-cwt. van, a 30-cwt. lorry;. a 3-tonner of 157-in. wheelbase, with a drop-sided body, and a 4-57tonner of 185-in, wheelbase, can-ying a platform body. The lorries have all-steel cabs produced by the chassis maker.

AVELING-BARFORD. Stand185 THREE rollers, ranging from a small petrol-engined hand outfit weighing 15 cwt. to an 8-ton oil-enginecl model, will he shown by AvelingBarford,-Ltd.

The most recently introduced of the three models is the oil-engined footpath roller, which can be supplied in weights from 2/-3 tons, and equipped with rollers giving a 4-ft. or a 6-ft. rolling width. The engine is a high-speed twin-cylindered unit ; two speeds are available, both forward and reverse.

FOR many years past, Merryweather and Sons, Ltd., have been responsible for fire protection at the Royal Show, and this year is no exception. The special Merryweather fire station will house a Greenwich Salamander fireengine and a Hatfield trailer pump.

In addition, there will be a comprehensive selection of small fire-fighting appliances.

LATIL. Stand 200

THE G.T.L.-type four-wheel steering ioreatry tractor to be shown by Latil Industrial Vehicles, Ltd., has become so well known as to make reference to it almost superfluous.

The Model on view will have an enclosed cab with a sliding roof, hinged sides and tailboard surrounding the heavy-duty three-speed winch, and folding wheel spuds. A full electriclighting set is provided, whilst mechanical and vacuum systems arc supplied for brake operation.

The Latil timber trailer is equipped with loading skids and mounted on giant pneumatic tyres.

WALLIS AND STEEVENS.

Stand 294 'THE Advance lightweight petrol1 engined roller to be shown by Wallis and Steevens, Ltd., is one of four ordered by Gloucester County Council. It will be seen alongside a 10-ton oil-engined roller, , equipped. with a double-head scarifier and a National three-cylindered power, unit.

RANSOMES. Stand 327 QPECIAL machines for golf courses' will figure among the comprehensive• selection of lawn mowers, of both motor and hand patterns, to be shown by R.ansomes, Sims and Jefferies, Ltd.

VINCENTS. Stand 371

TWO new models of motor horsebox have just been introduced by Messrs. Vincents of Reading, in time for exhibition at the "Royal." One is a two-horse box of distinctiVe appearance, costing £483, and the other a three-horse box at £625.

Li addition to improving the external appearance, the padding of the stalls has been enhanced, a new easily operated ventilation system has been installed, and flush-fitting ramp coil springs have been incorporated.

JENNINGS. Stand 372

THE maker's popular de luxe three' compartment horsebox will be a prominent exhibit on the stand of J. H. Jennings and Son, Ltd. Alongside will be seen a rigid-sided cattle truck and horsebox, and a generalpurpose cattle truck.

GRE ENSLADE. Stand 373 POPULAR for hunt work, the Economy four-wheeled two-horse hox trailer, which can be towed by an 18-20 h.p. car, will be shown by Messrs. W. A. Greenslade. The vehicle, which weighs 201 cwt., is priced at £160. The animals can be unloaded from the side, at the front, without the need for detaching the trailer.
