The Gaithers Bead Vice works in combination with Super Slick'Ern lubricant, which ensures the bead is speedily broken without damaging either the tyre or the rim. Slick'Em is applied before releasing air from the tyre. It attacks any rust between the bead and rim as the tyre deflates, but being vegetable oil based, does not affect those expensive aluminium wheels.
