• Continental Tyres Group's new CV tyre dealer network is now fully established, according to managing director Brian Smith. Earlier this year the company decided to close its WS Commercial outlets, replacing them with a line-up of "preferred independent dealers", each responsible for CV tyre sales in a particular territory.

"I'm sitting very comfortably here, confident that we've done what we said we'd do," says Smith.

There are now 62 dealerships operated by 42 companies—only four territories are operated by former NTS branches, though another three have been subject to management buyouts. About 330 NTS employees have been made redundant: "I believe we treated them fairly," says Smith.
