BECAUSE of the cutback on the movement of traffic, estimated at about 30 per cant for the first six months of this year, vehicle rental companies are among the first to suffer.
CM was told this week that large numbers of rental vehicles are now -standing against the wall-.
One large lorry rental operator explained that his organisation had been unaffected financially. His vehicles were on lease from manufacturers distributors on a two-year lease and return contract.
The distributors are now bearing the financial implications. We have returned our vehicles which we can now no longer rent"
This week CM tried to .get statements from the large leasing companies but spokesmen were -unavailable".
