Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

low-loader trailer with a combined length of 48ft 6in. and with ballast loaded on the trailer, the total weight could be as much as 28 tons. Will this be permissible after plating? A Provided your Bedford carries only ballast it can operate as a motor tractor and is then exempt from plating. When used with the draw-bar trailer it will presumably be operating under the Special Types Order which limit the speed, etc., and then the plating and testing regulations will again not apply. But if the Bedford is used for carrying goods it will have to be plated and tested at the appropriate time.
