Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The City of London College has now received approval from the Council for National Academic Awards for its BA Honours Degree in Business Studies, with a Transport Specialization and this four-year sandwich course will start in September of this year.

The course in Transport Studies is built upon the foundation of the Business Studies degrees already being offered at the College. In Part II—years three and four—there will be a study in depth of the economic, financial and accounting aspects of transport, along with an analytical approach to the problems of management. Mathematics and statistics and an introduction to computer science will be included. French or German or Spanish will be available as optional subjects.

For 24 weeks in each year, students will be in full-time employment in various branches of the industry. Sufficient places for this year's students, who will commence practical training in February 1969, have already been offered to the College by both large and small transport operators, and by firms with transport departments. A number of transport undertakings are arranging to sponsor students for the course and the senior lecturer in charge, Mr John Hibbs, will be glad to hear from any other employers interested in sponsoring students or offering training places.

Apart from finding employment in the management of transport undertakings or in commercial research, graduates of the degree course will be qualified to work in central and local government agencies. The method of approach (which combines a basic business course with an introduction to the newer mathematical and allied techniques) and the depth of the studies envisaged, is such to justify it as leading to the award of an honours degree.
