Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Tyne Tees Waste Disposal company of Stockton-on-Tees, Co. Durham, recently took delivery of a 15ft 9iin.-wheelbase, AV 505-powered Guy Big J six-wheeler with large-capacity Sheppard Willer 12000 Mk. II ground-level-lift equipment. The vehicle was supplied by T. W. Walker, Guy's Stockton distributor.

For the container handling unit Sheppard Fabrications Ltd, has used a high-pressure hydraulic system designed by F. X. Meiller of West Germany. A high-pressure hydraulic system working at 3,000 p.s.i. enables small diameter hydraulic rams, and consequently a small pump and reservoir, to do the work of much larger, heavier, low pressure corn mercial equipment.

Lifting capacities can range from 3 to 45 tons and individual chassis manufacturers' loading requirements are met to ensure safe and efficient operation of any particular vehicle. The equipment fitted to the Tyne Tees 22 tons g.v.w. Big J6 is suitable for lifting and carrying a gross load of 12 tons 6cwt. The unit carries factory waste in long containers of up to 25 cu. yd. capacity. Standard containers can also be handled by employing secondary lifting chains, and tipping is achieved by dual tipping hooks.

All operation of the container handling unit is controlled by two levers. These can be reached from the driver's seat, or from outside the cab. One lever, with three operating positions, controls rear jacks and tipping hooks. The second lever, with four control positions, operates the lifting arms. One control position is spring loaded and increases container lowering rate for rapid off-loading of empty containers.
