• In Carlisle on Tuesday Mr. J. A. T. Hanlon, Northern LA, granted additional tippers to two hauliers to carry road and building materials for the Tarmac Roadstone Co., in conjunction with work for other customers. Barnett and Graham Ltd. Penrith, after negotiations with the objectors reduced its application from five to three additional B-licensed vehicles of 6 tons each. In order to protect the outstanding objectors T. E. Swainson Ltd., Mr. Hanlon excluded carriage of goods for British Gypsum Ltd. and Cumberland County Council on these vehicles. J. W. Graham Ltd., Cockermouth was granted three more tippers on its A-licence with the existing normal user which includes the Tarmac work for M62 construction.
