the Road Haulage Industry, I understand figures were given on the average weekly hours and total earnings according to shift and size of vehicle. Can you give me any typical examples?

AIn aggregate 200,700 drivers average 58.6 hours a week and earn £22 7s 9d. Of this total 185,000 are termed all-day drivers who average 58.2 hours a week and earn just £22. In this group the highest earnings were made by drivers of vehicles with a carrying capacity of 18 tons and over, namely £27 10s 7d based on an average of 64.1 hours a week.

The corresponding category of 8,500 allnight drivers earned £30 6s 5d for 63.7 hours.
