CM has a new group sales manager who knows all about the pressures facing our industry.

The new face at the top of the classified section of Commercial Motor is group classified sales manager PhilWass. He is now responsible for our entire road transport classified and sales teams. Wass, who spent six years as advertising sales manager with our stablemate Fannei Weekly, takes over from Dee Flower, who has sensibly moved to the seaside. He adm that he faces a steep learning curve but points out that agriculture and road transport have plenty in common:"Both industries are under pressure, heavily regulated and with margins being constantly squeezed. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead. We will continue doing what we do — Commercial Motor is a successful title.

Wass is in charge of a 12-strong team at CM and is confident that your favouritl road transport magazine can capitalise on its current success following our re-launch last September.

Away from the rigours of the road transport industry Phil spends his time follow Nationwide first-division soccer team West Ham United — he's a season ticket hold so he should know all about getting value for money...
