Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I AM WRITING to express my disappointment at the article in Commercial Motor (29 January) headlined "Police swoop on... Police-.

The story suggests that a truck-trailer towed away by police in a Northampton suburb was reported stolen by the driver and that the theft was later investigated by other officers, unaware that their colleagues had towed the truck away.

The truck had already been ticketed and was towed away from a residential area in Northampton, where il had been illegally parked on the footpath for a week and was causing an obstruction.

It was towed away out of office hours and was reported stolen by the driver before we were able to inform the company of the action we had taken.

The story also suggested that Northamptonshire Police were not available for comment: had we been made aware of the anti-police slant the reporter was looking to put on the story we would certainly have insisted on supplying a comment and the relevant information.

The Northamptonshire Police press office is always accessible to the media and has always valued, and I hope will continue to do so.its relationship with Commercial Motor.
