Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Late-model, low mileac I7-tonners with box or curtainsider bodies are proving popular sellers at present, reports Warren Cole of independent dealer Brandrick Trucks; especially if they're wearing Scania or Mercedes badges.

"So far as tractor units are concerned, it's down to price," says Cole. "If they're cheap enough, they'll sell. Mercedes I834s are going very well at the moment and they represent good value for money. "Overall, though, I wouldn't say the used market was buoyant," he adds. "It's quiet, for example, at 7.5 tonnes." The Rowley Regis, West Midlands company is still celebrating winning the 1998 Institute of Transport Management Used Commercial Dealer Of The Year Award. "We won it because of our product range—we stock everything from a Ford Escort van upwards—the condition of our vehicles and the way we present them, and our prices," says Cole. Brandrick has around 60 vehicles in stock, and Cole and his colleagues aim to give buyers what they want. "If they give us the specification of the truck they need we can usually get it in two to three weeks," he says. "We can arrange for chassis to be altered, cranes to be mounted, and bodies fitted and painted to customers' requirements."
