has started at Izmir, Turkey, on the building of a new factory to assemble and ultimately manufacture a broad range of B.M.C. vehicles for the Turkish market.
, Assembly is planned to start at the new plant by midsummer this year; when fully operational it will have a capacity for assembling up to 13,000 Austin and Nuffield cars, commercial vehicles and tractors a year.
