ASTRADDLE carrier with a top speed of 52 m.p.h. has been produced by the American T-ryster company. Its capacity is 10 short ton's, and it supplements a 15-ton machine with which it shares a similar engine, transmission and lifting system.
c26 Power steering applies to all wheels, and the coil-spring suspension system is fully independent. Brakes are power operated. The V8 164 b.h.p. engine transmits power through a drive train the parts of which are oversize to afford a reserve of strength for arduous operation.
A synchromesh gearbox provides four speeds in both directions. The load shoes operate under hydraulic power, and their spacing is made to individual requirements.
