Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN extensive advertising campaign to try to sell redundant AEC Merlin buses abroad has been mounted by London Transport. But an LT spokesman said that although over 200 inquiries had been received, no sales had yet been finalised.

He refused to disclose the asking price, saying that this was a matter of commercial policy—but did not deny press reports it was about £9,000 each. The adverts in journals abroad state that "the vehicles are being withdrawn because of their replacement by higher capacity one-man-operated double-deck buses, and route operational difficulties due to their length."
