A STATEMENT was made in a 1-1 written answer by the Minister of Transport, last week, clarifying the taxation of Land-Rovers. If such vehicles are used for carrying goods for hire or reward or in connection with a trade or business, they have to be licensed as goods vehicles.

Land-Rovers owned by farmers and used for carrying agricultural produce in connection with farming bear the £17 10s. goods-vehicle tax, or, if they come into the "farmer's goods vehicle" category, fl 1 10s. An addition of £10 is applicable if a trailer is drawn.
