Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I FEEL I must respond in answer to Sean Saxon's letter (CM 12 August),I have been a transport manager and am still a CPC holder, doing both UK and Continental work.

Having now semi-retired I find myself doing agency work for The Best Connection agency, and have done so for the past five and a half years. Not every agency driver is as Saxon describes, and he should not entirely blame the drivers.

Surely as a manager he knows all agency tachos should be photocopied for the drivers future use, with the management keeping the original chart.

Please don't knock the agencies, as they allow otherwise unemployed drivers to earn a wage and keep the wolf from the door. No one ever knows when they may need to rely on an agency for employment — even managers.

I speak from some fairly wide experience in both management and driving over the past 50 years. Most agency drivers that I have come into contact with are just doing a good job of work like any other driver.

So please. don't knock all agency drivers. Let's all work together for our mutual peace of mind.

W Ludennan Tamworth, Staffs
