Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RESIDENTS IN Willersey, Glos are claiming a minor victory after the council said that it would consider introducing a weight restriction order to prevent heavy trucks travelling through their village.

Locals have been fighting for a 7.5-tonne limit on the B6432 for more than 15 years and have threatened to obstruct trucks travelling through the village as part of their campaign.

The council will meet again next month to make a final decision. If given the go-ahead the signs would be up by November.

Local operator Mark Bird from B&B Transport says the restriction would have a serious effect on his business: "It would mean that we would have to take a longer route to carry out our deliveries. The road is wide and not very heavily populated, so I can't see why it needs a weight restriction."

A Gloucestershire County Council spokesman says it understands the frustrations of local people. but the movement of freight is vital for the economy. "We are currently working with Worcestershire County Council to try and achieve a balance between the wishes of local people in Willersey and the concerns raised by villages in Worcestershire that would be affected by any changes to routes," he adds." We hope to be able to agree a way forward in the next few months."
