OAF TRUCKS IS launching the Daf Telematics and Infotainment System with a dashboard control unit, a computer in the truck and an internet portal which allows the unit to connect to the home base. Optimum routes are chosen by the home base and automatically sent to the truck's navigation system.
Functions include messaging, navigation, route plannlng, geofencing (limiting a vehicle's movement to a specified area), tracking, tracing and performance monitoring. It is also possible to fit a camera.
The system will be available from the end of 2007 for CF and XF models; all Euro-3 CF and XFs can be retrofitted.
