Police had originally stopped David's Ford Sierra because of the number plate—OEUT MB. It refers to a chapter in the book of Deuteronomy in the Bible which says God is the only source of power (though Cummins might disagree).
The police though were not convinced by David's plea and he now faces his second appearance at Heath magistrates on 11 May. But David is not worried about his legal entanglement and says God will he on his side at court. A solicitor talking about the case is not so optimistic. "He may believe what he is saying but I don't expect to see God in the witness box."
