A CHESHIRE haulier has had his 0-licence renewed despite convictions for false entries and the use of an unlicensed vehicle.

North-western Deputy Licensing Authority J. Levin heard last week that Northwich-based Patrick Edward Blake had been fined last September for 15 offences relating to record-keeping and using a vehicle without a vehicle excise licence.

Traffic examiner William Keddie told Mr Levin that Mr Blake was unable to produce any records when he visited his premises. Those produced later had been made out by Mr Blake and his drivers after his visit. It had been done with the intention of misleading.

Renewing the licence, Mr Levin said he could only take a serious view of the offences as enforceinent officers must be able to rely on the accuracy of paperwork.
