THE Special Products Division of the Leyland Motors Group is now offering for sale as separate units Leyland 10and 12-ton driven and trailing axles and the Leyland five-, sixor seven-speed gearbox. Five types of axle of each capacity are available, these being singledrive units suitable for either trunionmounted suspension or separate springs (e.g., single axle use or four-spring bogie), through-drive axles suitable for either

of these types of suspension, and a singledrive axle for use with four-spring suspensions. The gearbox is the GB 128 unit suitable for engines of up to 600 lb. ft. torque and available as a basic fivespeed unit or with overdrive or crawler gears, either or both of which may be fitted. The clutch housing flange conforms to No. I S.A.E. standard, and the basic five-speed assembly weighs 740 lb. The optional crawler-gear ratio gives an output torque of 5,586 lb. ft.
