A LBION MOTORS LTD. has started PA production at a new £750,000 transmission factory. Covering over 72,000 sq. ft., it is sited alongside the main works at Scotstoun. Glasgow, and is producing gearboxes, other transmission components and such items as engine timing gears.

Extensive use is made of gravity for the feeding of parts to the various stages of manufacture, over 1.5 miles of gravity chutes being -incorporated. An Albiondesigned washing machine cleans the casings and other parts before assembly. All gearboxes arc given a test run before leaving the production line.
