The Minister of Transport has appointed the Hon.Alexander L Hood to be a part-time member, for three years, of the British Railways Board.
Mr. G. D. Woolcock has been appointed a member of the Transport Users Consultative Committee for the East Midland Area.
Mr. M. H. L. Whitehouse has been appointed assistant director of the British Engineers' Association, and Mr. R. K. Fenelon has been appointed secretary of the Association.
As a result of a new storage terminal at Ellesmere Port becoming operational next month, Jet Petroleum Ltd. has reorganized its marketing regions. Mr. E. P. Garner takes control of a newly formed region, the north-west. He was formerly manager of the north-east region, and Mr. G. S. Orr replaces him in this region. The eastern region becomes the eastern district of the southern region and Mr. A. W. Morgan becomes superintendent of this district.
Mr. A. E. Barton, general manager of the City of Birmingham Salvage Department, will be installed as president for 1963-64 at the 65th Annual Conference of the Institute of Public Cleansing at Southport.
Mr. R. A. Lovell, former chief mechanical engineer at the Ministry of Transport, has been appointed chairman of the National Automobile Safety Belt Association. Mr. S. M. Kendal has been elected chairman of the South Wales Division of the T.R T.A.; vice-chairmen are Mr. J, I. Plenty and Mr. J. R. Elliott.

Mr. A. A. Issigonis, technical director, has been appointed to the board of the British Motor Corporation.
Mr. J. L. Hopkins has been elected divisional chairman of the North Western, Merseyside and North Wales division of the T.R.T.A.
Mr. J. Newton, traffic manager, General Rubber Goods Division, Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd., has been re-elected as chairman of the Manchester and District Centre of the Institute of Traffic Administration.

regret to record the deaths of Mr. F. Harman and Mr. W. M. Peck. Mr. Harman, a haulier of Rotherfield, Crowborough, Sussex, was aged 66.
Mr. Peck, with the department for 34 years, was the deputy chief engineer of Birmingham City Transport.
