TVVIL Handling The TWIL-mark was developed to discourage theft of rollcage equipment, but its application is said to be just as effective on garment rails, stillages or wherever tubing is used. The system marks the containers repeatedly on one or both sides of the tubing with the customer's identification mark, whether name or logo, whichever is appropriate. Grinding off the TWIL marks is impractical and it has proved an effective deterrent to theft, says the company, which will collect and return the roll containers or other equipment when suitably marked. Price according to volume.

Maple Commercial Vehicle Security Just launched is Drivelock, a system from Maple which allows the driver to leave the vehicle unattended—even with the keys -in the ignition, door unlocked and engine running—yet prevents attempted anveciway by any unauthorised drivers. A sensor recognises the driver's "authorisation" which could be an identity tag, a credit card-sized badge carried in the wallet, or disguised as part of the uniform. A scanning sensor activates the immobiliser and activates a multi-layer system of protection if unauthorised use of the vehicle is attempted. Maple also ensures its installers are audited independently by the FTA, to maintain standards. Price on application.

Zeta Controls

By fitting the Zeta CoDriver operators are said to get the benefits of having a "fleet manager on board". Combining it with an engine immobiliser offers added security with the ability to store vehicle management data. Harsh braking, speeding, idle time and other useful data can all be recorded for downloading to a PC. Price on application.

Enigma Systems Tracer reports the position of a vehicle back to base at intervals decided by the operator. It links to alarms and immobilisers which can be remotely activated. Target performs the same functions as Tracer with the addition of a two-way text collection screen. This is proving particularly effective for international operators for advising drivers of collection addresses and ferry times, says Enigma. Both systems can be installed and running for about 21,150.
