Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A FELIXSTOWE haulier is being wound up after struggling to win new contracts. A & B Transport (Ipswich) appointed liquidators from B&C Associates on 9 October and its eight employees were made redundant.

According to files lodged at Companies House, creditors are estimated to be owed more than £300,000, with £127,000 of this due to HMRC. Director Jason Hinson is owed £70,000 by the firm, which had a licence for six vehicles and six trailers.

Jeffrey Brenner at B&C said: “There simply wasn’t enough work, and the company was struggling to obtain new contracts.

“It did various things; staffing levels were reduced, consideration was given to refinancing the business, but with the trading conditions the director took the decision to wind it up.” Brenner added that employees have been paid up to date.
