Simon Griffin is named as the new dealer principal for Daf Trucks dealer Watts Truck and Van
Words: Kevin Swallow SOUTH WALES Daf Trucks dealer Watts Truck & Van has appointed Simon Griffin as the new dealer principal.
He begins his new role on 1 January 2013, and will arrive from Isuzu Truck (UK) where he is the general manager UK retail sales. He previously worked with Volvo Trucks.
With Watts company director John Landon retiring next year, the appointment comes as part of a succession plan.
MD Stewart Charters explained: “Griffin has been involved with trucks and buses for over 20 years.
“This appointment is part of the succession planning, with John retiring in 2013,” he said. “I would like to express my gratitude to John for his hard work and dedication through difficult times.” Charters is confident Griffin will improve sales and service in south Wales and remain the region’s premier truck and van dealer. “Griffin lives in south Wales – his knowledge of the local market will benefit the customers and the business,” he said. ■
