A TYRE FITTER was crushed and killed by the hydraulic arm on his own truck as he prepared to change the tyres on a tipper last week.
The fatal accident happened at Veolia Environmental's Blue Haze landfill site at Somerley, Hants.
It is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive and Hampshire Police, who have named the man as Mark Walters of Llandybie, South Wales.
A statement from Veolia says Walters had been using a vehicle with a Hiab rig and "it appears that while setting up, he was trapped by his own vehicle''.
