Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The first commercial vehicles sale at ADT Auctions' new multi-million pound centre in Newport, Gwent, will take place in January.

Development of the I lha purpose-built site is nearing compeletion, and according to operations director Fabian Hine, everything is on schedule for opening in the New Year.

"ADT Newport is the key to the development of the Welsh vehicle auction business. It will join our Cardiff centre in serving a customer base throughout Wales and the South-West."

The new centre is at Queensway Meadows, next to Junction 24 on the M4 and minutes away from the Severn Bridge. It is similar to ADT's £10m development at Belle Vue, Manchester with a 'big top' roof which has been designed to let in more than average natural light to the viewing areas and auction halls.

The commercial auction section is separate from the car auction, valeting and body preparation departments and includes a drive-through auction area, like other ADT complexes.

"The huge area of hardstanding, vital for marshalling the large number of vehicles the centre will offer, is constructed from a revolutionary design of block paving that is immune to damage by frost or heat," says Hine. "Heavy duty ramps will make the loading and unloading of plant and equipment a simple task."

Sales at the Newport Commercial Vehicle Auction Centre begin on 7 January with an inaugural light commercial vehicle sale. ADT expects to offer at least 300 LCVs at the weekly Monday sales.

The first in the programme of monthly HGV sales takes place on Thursday 10 January and will have about 200 vehicles on offer.

The first of the bi-monthly plant and equipment sales will be in February.

l=1 ADT Auctions' Blackbushe Commercial Auction Centre has appointed its first female assistant branch manager — Joanne Kite.

She has been with the company for seven years having joined it straight from school as a clerkitypist. Kite was acting office manageress before she was promoted to her present position at ADT.

David Church, ADT's director, truck and plant, says: "It is notable that Joanne's promotion has been acheived in the traditionally male-dominated environment of HGV, and plant and equipment auctions."
