Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Your correspondent's remarks on the safety of tipper vehicles exhibited at the recent Commercial Motor Show (CM October 11) deserve a reply on behalf of the exhibitors.

It is regrettable that Mr Taylor did not visit Stand No 19 where I would have been pleased to conduct him around seven exhibits, all displaying the warning signs and adequately secured rams.

It is mandatory for all vehicles in the tipped position to have some form of support other than the hydraulic system, The most popular means is by a locking ring which is clamped on each extension of the ram thus preventing any collapse of the ram due to hydraulic failure.

These rings are difficult to detect, but I can assure Mr Taylor that all the tipped vehicles I observed during the eight days of the show were equipped thus.
