Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Welford, Collar

May I reply to the letter by Robert Taylor (CM October 11) on the subject of tipper bodies at Earls Court being apparently unpropped? I can only speak for Welford Truck Bodies in that the tipping trailer we exhibited was protected by the fitting of ram locking collars to ensure perfect safety whilst the vehicle was displayed in the tipped position.

These were supplied by the ram manufacturer Edbro, and I assume that similar arrangements were made between Edbro and other exhibitors of their equipment.

I feel that it is important to publicize the fact that exhibitors and show organizers are more than conscious of their responsibilities on the matter of safety especially when dealing with the general public, and that any genuinely unprotected tipped bodies Mr Robert-Taylor observed were likely to be the exception rather than the

rule. G. E. HAWKYARD, Director & General Manager, Welford Truck Bodies Ltd, Warley, Worcs.
