A light-alloy petrol engine powers both the van and the pick-up versions of the Russian-built Moskvich 434. Of 1478cc (90cu in) capacity, the engine develops 60kW (80bhp) at 5800rpm on four-star petrol. Front suspension is independent by unequal length wishbones with high rate leaf springs at the rear. The gearbox is a four-speed all-synchromesh type and a single-dry-plate clutch of 203mm (Bin) diameter is featured.
