AN ARRANGEMENT has been made by the National Bus Company with Eastlease Ltd, a subsidiary of the Norwich Union Insurance Co Ltd, for it to lease up to 150 buses and coaches in the current financial year. NBC has been leasing vehicles for the last three or four years, but never in the past more than 30 at a time. this week that the leasing policy enabled the company to keep its financial options open. Depending on the level of interest rates leasing could have financial advantages but he did not expect that NBC would go for leasing in a big way. The deal had been approved by the DoE. but Mr Neely said that, because of the chassis supply situation, the number of vehicles involved was unlikely to be more than 100.
