THE Model B.70 Master Motor

analyser is a new product of Crypton Equipment, Ltd., Bridgwater, Somerset. This comprises four portable testing units, a combined coil and condenser tester, a tach-dwell-voltmeter. an exhaust-gas analyser suitable for petrol engines and those using butane or propane gas, and a 'combined ignition tester with auto-advance test circuit. It costs £191.

Also new is a compression tester, the Model EIX,35. This will not only measure cylinder compressions. but is supplied complete with special adaptors for measuring oil pressure . on engines fitted with an oil-pressure warning light in heti of a pressure gauge. Three extensions enable the device, which costs £5 5s., to be used for taking the compression of any type of engine.

A range of Crypton home chargers and lightweight chargers has been introduced. Three models of the home charger are available, the AE,1, AE.2, and AE.3, suitable for charging 6or 12-volt batteries. Capacities are 13amp., 2-23amp., and 5 amp., the cost being £3 19s. 6d., £5 12s. 6d., and £7 17s. '6dt respectively. Hardening Sprocket Teeth A NEW oxy-acetylene flame harden 11. machine, which provides surface hardening on sprocket teeth to prevent excessive wear, has been developed by Precision Heating, Ltd., Canbury Park Road, Kingston-on-Thames. Surrey. -Designed with the co-operation of British Oxygen Gases. Ltd., the machine is said to be capable of hardening single, duplex and triplex sprockets of up to about 6-in. diameter. A full set or burners with suitable jet sizes is provided.

The root of each tooth is hardened to just above the pitch circle diameter, the tips remaining soft. The teeth are heated to temperatures in the region of 820° C. and automatically quenched in

soluble MI on a time basis for each • tooth.

Injection Test Bench FULLER details have now been released concerning the Hartridge Junior fuel-injection pump test bench announced by The Commercial Motor on October 4. Floor-mounted, the new machine is

powered by a 14-h.p. three-phase A.C. motor, and all the main power shafts run in self-lubricating bearings. .A detachable drip tray permits clean working.

'the new Hartric3ge overflow calibration system is incorporated, and is claimed to ensure the extreme accuracy required in the measuring of small outputs'.necessary with the new C.A.V./ D.P.A. fuel pump.

Infinitely variable speed between 100 arid 2,000 r.p.m. is provided, whilst a 360° ring and pointer is prominently fitted and combined with a 3 to 1 reduction for ease and accuracy when spill phasing, A lever actuating the motor frame may be used to bring a pressure pump into circuit for pressure phasing and positive fuel supply. Rapid calibration is given by an instantaneous 100-shot trip

mechanism operated from either side of the machine. .

Spigoted pump mounting brackets and interchangeable drive coUplings are stated to ensure concentrieity. Various types are available for a wide range of standard pumps and also for the new distributor-type pump. Price of the new appliance is £198 10s., attachments being glassed as extras.

Multi-point Lubrication A'm roved version of the Centralube Multi minor is now available from Centralube, Ltd., Great Western Trading Estate, Park Royal Road, London, N.W.10. This ensures that all points get the same amount of lubricant irrespective of differences in fit. A special screw is provided for de-aerating grease so that air locks can be avoided. There is also a locking bracket for the operating lever when not in use.

Cost of the latest Centralube Multiminor unit is £J0 10s. It will hold 9 oz. of grease or pt. of oil, and the output per point for each lever movement. is 0.4 grammes.
