B.S.A. BOARD CHANGES 'THE board of The Birmingham Small

Arms Co., Ltd., has been reconstructed to comprise leading executives and outside directors of wide technical and business experience. Sir Patrick Hannon, Mr. James Leek, and Sir Frank Smith have retired.

Newly appointed directors are Mr. G. G. Phillips, Mr. A. J. Quig, and Sir James Young (non-executive); and Mr. E. Turner and Mr. R. P. Wallace (executive).

The bank overdraft, which at July 31, 1956, stood at Over f21m., has been extinguished and it is expected that the group trading profit before taxation for the year to July 31, 1957, will exceed £2.1rn.
