According to Wood, the most common thing operators are currently falling foul of are inspection sheets and drivers' hours. "The inspection sheets are either not being done on time, not completed properly, or not being monitored if they're farmed out to a third party. Drivers' hours we see less of now because of the introduction of Graduated Fixed Penalties (GFP), but VOSA can issue a GFP only if the drivers' hours offence has occurred on that day. If it's any other day, it goes to prosecution."
