New Wincanton tanker will shave 5% from fuel bill

WINCANTON HAS unveiled a new fuel tanker, which it claims will improve fuel efficiency by 5%. The trailer will join the cornparty's petroleum fleet and be put to work on its contract with Chevron.

Manufactured by Lakeland, the trailer has had aerodynamic design alterations made to both front and back, resulting in improved airflow over the tank valance that reduces drag.

In addition, streamlined body panels have been integrated into the landing leg and front side guard area.

"The carbon savings we will achieve by introducing these new tankers demonstrates the positive contribution that our industry can make to tackling climate change with a customer partnership approach," says Maurizio Romano, general manager for fleet engineering at Wincanton.
