Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Renault Trucks is achieving aggressive targets for its used vehicle sales, aiming for 2,400 units before the year end.

Renault Trucks UK is on course to improve sales of used vehicles by more than 20% this year.

Director of used vehicles Bruce Allison says the company will reach 2,400 units for the year. "We have been strongly ahead of predicted sales all year. We saw an upturn in September 2003 and it has just kept going."

The improvement follows Renault's beefing up of its Choice Used Vehicle programme with strong marketing campaigns and more sales staff from more dedicated centres. The 1.9% low rate finance package on Premium 420 dCi tractors, which finishes at the end of December, is one example. It has generated 300 sales and introduced new customers to the Renault product. Selling these deals today is a 37-strong sales team based across the country double that of three years ago, working from 32 Choice Used Vehicle sites,13 more than in 2001.

The success is also down to a strong performing Midlum which offers a broad mix of age, product and price. Its residuals match the Mercedes-Benz Atego and Daf equivalent. The Magnum's popularity has seen its residual value rise 5% and the Premium 420 dCi tractor is strong, worth more than 20% than its outgoing 400hp stablemate.

Allison believes next year will remain on an even keel, with 2004 providing stability after rising up the ranks. Renault's buy-back peak has now passed allowing the UK arm to more easily control its fleet of returning vehicles, •
