RENAULT HAS released a sneak preview of the next Renault Magnum, due to be unveiled in February.
Although Renault refers vaguely to a new driveline with an improved balance of torque, economy and weight, we understand that the existing Mack engine will be replaced by the lighter Volvo D12C unit, albeit renamed as a group product. Nominal ratings are believed to be 440 and 480hp: 20hp above the current Volvo outputs.
The ZF transmissions are expected to remain unchanged. at least initially, but look out for minor cosmetic improvements inside and out.
