As a reader of Commercial Motor for over 20 years the most annoying article I have ever had the misfortune to read is your interview with Geoffrey Cavewood. What or who gives him the right to categorise people?

Sometime ago! was on a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance course where an instructor had the same attitude.

This bloke categorised some as skiving gits, layabouts and dossers as they were unemployed. There were two of us on a workbench but this instructor kept on telling us everything we did was wrong, despite the fact that we were getting on fine However, when he gave a lecture to some of the group, one was not too impressed and barely restrained himself from violence.

The message is simple—engage your mind before your tongue. Keep your opinions to yourself; that way you will gain more trainees and respect.
