Ince is depending on its latest low-roof Daily variant to boost UK sales. The company is also adding "DriveAway" tippers, dropsides and reefers to the 3,000 Daily permutations that make up the range branded the City Truck.

Light business unit director Chris Thorneycroft-Smith reports that the UK dealer network will expand from 58 to 70 sites within 18 months.

The low-roof version of the Daily, designated the Ill, is available on 3000 and 30001 wheelbases, coming with a ceiling height of 1.5m and a volume of 7.3m3 or 8.3m3.

Available on selected C, S and L class vans, Neat reckon the 291 will be the best selling H1 with a payload of 1,230kg, a load length of 2.6m and a width of 1.8m. Ingimex, GRP, Hyrdomech and Lamberet will provide ready bodied vehicles from stack to reduce on lead time: the DriveAway range comprises two tippers, a dropside, two reefers and a fridge box.

UK Daily sales have increased from 6.0 to 6.4% as Ford's and Mercedes-Benz's market share have fallen, but the Iveco will have to battle hard against the new Transit and Sprinter.

It has become the market leader in the 3.5-tonne market in Europe as a whole, taking 22% of sales in the first quarter of this year and 42% of the market in Italy.

The best selling version to date is the 35S single rear wheel model with a 12m3 loadbay.
