SALES SURGE
LDV reports a 26% increase in UK sales for April 2000 with 1,152 sales pushing its market share up to 10.3%. Sales for the year to date are up 12.1% to 4,911 units, but the company says the ongoing strength of the pound continues to put pressure on margins.

Seddon Atkinson has beaten off five other manufacturers to secure a deal for 22 new tractors from GO Sissons and Sons. They are all Strato 16 6x2s with mid-lift axles, highroof cabs and Cummins 11litre, 380hp ISM engines, The new vehicles replace 4x2s.
