It piped-in the Coldstream Guards band for the occasion (Cold. . .guard — geddit?), A crowd gathered as a trio of trumpeters fanfared the entrance of the Southfields management.
As the string was pulled it looked for a minute as if the inevitable would happen, and the yellow curtain enveloping the trailer would stay in place. But no, after a moment's delay, the shroud fell to the ground as planned.
