Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A MANAGEMENT reshuffle has been carried out by National Carriers Parcels to improve its operational structure and increase sales.

Under managing director Dick Durran, England and Wales will be controlled by two operations directors. Cyril Oliver will he responsible for the North and Reg Aldridge takes charge of the South.

Mr Oliver's operations include the main hub branches at Preston, Birmingham and Manchester. In addition, he is responsible for Chinaflow (a specialist division) based at Stoke-on-Trent.

Albert Lewis remains general manager at Preston hut the area has been considerably enlarged to include Leeds and Gateshead. In addition, Mr Lewis will have day to day responsibility for Preston, Warrington, Carlisle, Scarborough, Hull, Sheffield and Grimsby.

In Birmingham, the new general manager is Jim Gilchrist. He takes over the position from Adrian Wright, who retires after a career in National Carriers Parcels which began when it was formed out of British Rail parcels interests in 1967.

Mr Gilchrist was previously fleet manager, having joined National Carriers in 1970. He has held various managerial positions in Aberdeen, Glasgow, London and Birmingham. The Birmingham centre now includes Derby and Peterborough in addition to Leicester, Lincoln, Worcester and Oxford.

the Manchester centre remains under the control of general manager, Jim Roby and covers the Greater Manchester area, North Wales and Stoke.

In the South the area covered by the company's Kings Cross centre has been increased under the management of Michael Brock.

The centre now covers London, Rochester. Ipswich, Harlow and Norwich. The new area sales manager is Peter Clark, who has been with National Carriers for the past 11 years. He was previously based at Ipswich.

The Watford branch remains under general manager

Stanley Ayres, but now covers Thames Valley and the I lome Counties. Mr Ayres is also responsible for Luton and Reading.

pointed. William Crane has been promoted from sales manager.

General manager of Bristol is Graham Nash, previously

general manager of Reading. Bristol now controls the company's largest geographical area in the country, including Cardiff, Carmarthen, Exeter, Redruth, Eastleigh, Portsmouth and Bournemouth.

Mr Marsh is supported by a new area sales manager,

Donald Young. He joined National Carriers in 1981 and his area has been substantially enlarged with the management changes.
