Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two new systems using ICI's Drikold solid carbon dioxide refrigeration blocks have been developed by the Industrial Products Department of ICI Agricultural Division for use in local delivery vans and also trunk vehicles.

The refrigeration systems are known as Koldstreem Gard and Koldstreem Pak. The Koldstreem Gard system is designed for small delivery vans, uses standard Drikold blocks and a thermostatically controlled fan which maintains the temperature all day within the range 0-10deg C. Perishable products, claims ICI, can be kept cool even though the vehicle's rear door may be opened more than 40 times during a working day. A cut-off switch on the door prevents the fan operating when the door is opened. Typical running costs for a 400 cu ft van are quoted as between 95p and £1.65 a day depending on ambient temperature.

The Koldstreem Pak is a similar system for larger vehicles. Two-section Drikold bunkers are suspended from the roof of the vehicle and a fan blows air along an interconnecting pipe over the blocks thus maintaining the temperature to the required level.

Both systems are available from ICI Agricultural Division, Industrial Products Department, Billingham, Teesside.
