IN the Year to March last, 19,984 new

C-licence operators came into existence, increasing the number by 4 per cent. from 454,698 to 474,682. The total number of C-licence vehicles increased by 49,390 from 907,055 to' 956,445 (5.4 per cent.).

As the following table shows, by far the largest increase was in light delivery vehicles.

WEYMANN'S STILL FACE DIFFICULTIES

ADVERSE conditions • experienced during 1955 by Weymann's, Ltd., continue, and prospects for an improvement in the ensuing year do not seem to be bright. This statement was made , by Mr. G. W. Scott, chairman and managing director of the United Molasses Co., Ltd., in his annual report. Weymann's, Ltd., is a manufacturing subsidiary of United Molasses.

Mr. Scott hopes that Weyrnanti's will make a small profit next year.

SPARES SHORTAGE COMPLAINTS

DIFFICULTY in obtaining spare parts for goads vehicles has been complained of by Wolverhampton operators. the local area of the Traders' Road Transport Association wants the matter to be taken up with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Specific instances of shortages of spares arc being sought. Stockists rather than manufacturers have been blamed.
