Goods vehicles numbered 65,528 (32,023 under 15 cwt., 31,167 from 15 cwt. to 6 tons, and 2,338 over 6 tons); passenger vehicles 2,792 (2,030 single-deck motorbuses, 718 double-deck motorbuses and 44 trolleybuses), and battery-electrics 326.

Output of pedestrian controlled delivery vehicles in the first quarter totalled 105 units, and of works trucks, 1,693.

Including dumpers and dump trucks, industrial trucks and trailers, the value of new commercial vehicles exported in March was £4,754,700, compared with £5,054,947 in February. Excluding dumpers, dump trucks and industrial trucks, for which the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders gives no figures, the numbers of units exported in March and February were 10,494 and 10,633 respectively.

During the first quarter, 35,141 new vehicles (f 16,122,527) were shipped, as well as 803 (£519,765) used vehicles, 27,474 (£9,562,866) agricultural tractors and parts and accessories valued at £15,735,233.
