Thanks to a load seconded from a nearby business and a load shovel in the yard, Munro Commercials was able to demonstrate exactly how its moving floor trailer works.
With the PTO (power take off) engaged from the truck, John Draper, sales/ demonstrator co-ordinator, uses a wireless control to open the rear door and start walking the load. In theory, apart from removing two twist locks on the rear door, the driver does not need to leave the cab while on site.
There are two cameras, one inside the loadspace to monitor the load moveme and a reversing camera, which has two sirens, a white-noise reversing alarm and a siren for when the trailer door opens.
On the body, the trailer has two stop buttons located on the chassis and by the rear door on the off-side, which shut everything down. The driver needs to activate the buttons before returning to the wireless control, which includes the Dawbarn cover sheet.
